Always happy to be working with our friends Whitespace Productions who were contracted by the lovely Pip at Velvet Twenty to provide a complete production solution at the Grosvenor House Hotel for the Annual Children with Cancer Charity Fundraiser.
WhitePD took care of the technical and scenic elements of the job that was anchored by the splendid (and highly generous with her time) Gabbi Roslin. It featured a number of performances, speeches and a live auction that raised over £620,000. Performances on the night included a 50+ choir and a full live set from Soul II Soul.
The backdrop for the event was based around a number of flown LED video walls – all controlled via an Analog Way Zenith 200 and transmitted over theatrixx fibre systems. On screen content included live camera, charity VT’s and bespoke content from the Whitespace Studio. Additional on site looks and busk-ability was provided by dual resolume servers.
The walls were interspersed with and flanked by a generous dollop of Chauvet Strike M’s and Chroma-Q Colourforce 2’s to give LD Chris Doy a wide range of eye-candy options backed up with some serious luminescent horsepower. In addition a further 50+ Robe moving head fixtures were installed. These included T1, Spiider, Ledbeam 150, 350 and the excellent and super compact Cuete.
Audio reinforcement was looked after by Stuart McKay. A D&B XSL system was installed as the primary L&R hangs and supported by V & Y series point source enclosures. Sub bass was taken care of with SL subs. At the front end a Yamaha DM7 was the primary control desk and supplemented with a Digico system for the band – both @ FOH and monitors. Amplification was a mixture of D&B D40 & D80’s as required.
Rigging for the event was provided by the excellent team at Roadrunner. Big thanks as always to T who looked after us with her splendid humour from start to finish.
