These 3.6m set panels are manufactured from a mixture of 2×1 and 2×2 timber and are open-framed. We use the best quality, responsibly sourced, PSE redwood timber and all joints are double screwed and glued. Frames are built to strict plans with a +/- 0.5mm tolerance rule and before assembly all the parts are stained black.
Panels are graded and serviced every time they come back to the warehouse. Panels that do not make A-grade will then be assessed to see if they meet B-grade standards. If a panel is deemed suitable as A or B grade it gets serviced, packed and stored – ready to go out again. Too many small defects or any single large defect will automatically send the panel into the quarantine area for further assessment. If its framework is structurally sound it will be stripped, serviced and recovered. At that point it will be an A-grade panel again. If the frame is deemed to be past its best it will be stripped of fabric and disassembled. The timber is then recycled into our lucky-timber stock that is used for on site bracing and consumables.
In addition to the standard modular set panels that we keep in our hire stock we also provide custom build services. Our in-house workshop is equipped with a range of modern machinery and a 3m x 2m CNC router. We can manufacture a range of custom items such as stage pieces, edge lit logos, white plinths, lecterns and more. WhitePD are an equipment rental and set-building specialist to the event production industry. As well as providing comprehensive White-Label dry hire support we also work with end clients and event organisers from the fashion, corporate, sporting and entertainment sectors.
